Muckin vs GI Outsourcing

GI Outsourcing works from Harrow, India and Centurion on fixed fees per job. Muckin sells monthly seats from its own Pretoria office with UK sign-off.

Described from public websites, August 2026
  • GI Outsourcing is a Harrow-based outsourcer, founded as Global Infosys in 1991, with offices in India and an office in Centurion, South Africa. It prices work as a fixed fee per job and starts with a trial job.
  • Muckin is a named team in our own Pretoria office, sold as monthly seats, reviewed and signed off in the UK, rolling monthly.
  • GI publishes a starting price for tax returns and quotes everything else; Muckin publishes every seat price on /pricing/.
  • GI suits a practice that wants per-job fixed fees, audit support and a UK account manager. Muckin suits a practice that wants the same named people every month at a published monthly price.

We've described GI Outsourcing from its own public website as of October 2026; if anything here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

What GI Outsourcing says it does

GI Outsourcing is the trading name of Global Infosys Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, with its head office in Harrow, Middlesex. It says it opened "as Global Infosys back in 1991" and now has "a team of over 300". For accountancy practices it lists bookkeeping and cloud accounting, management accounts, statutory accounts, payroll, taxation, audit support and advisory, alongside cloud consultancy and trust and corporate services. It says it has completed "more than 11,000 statutory accounts", and that its offices meet ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.

Its home page reads "South Africa | United Kingdom | India". The contact page lists the Harrow office, offices in India (Mumbai, Hyderabad, Noida and Ahmedabad) and a South Africa office at Highveld Technopark in Centurion, which is in the same time zone as our Pretoria office. GI's people page lists five people in the South Africa office: an audit solutions director and four audit managers. The site does not say what other work is done there. Its FAQ says "Our Indian operation works UK hours" and that each client also has a GI account manager in the UK.

On price, GI describes "competitive fixed fee pricing" and says it will quote a fixed fee for each job, whatever time the work takes. Its taxation page prices tax returns "From just £35"; other work is quoted. Its payroll page lists options running from dedicated team members up to a managed service with an onshore manager and "your own payroll team". New clients start with a consultation, a proposal and an "initial trial" on one job. On term, its About page promises "no long term contractual tie-ups"; we could not find a stated minimum or notice period. On quality, its FAQ says "Every piece of work is reviewed twice by a quality control team", without saying where that team sits. Content for your own practice is not listed. Their site: gioutsourcing.com.

What Muckin does

We do one thing: a production team for your practice, sold as monthly seats. A seat is one person in one role. A Production seat is a bookkeeper, a payroll and admin person or a marketer. An Accounts seat covers year-end accounts, CT600s, self assessment and management accounts. A Senior seat is a qualified accountant who can run a portfolio.

The people are employees in our own office in Pretoria, South Africa, and they work from that office. Pretoria is one to two hours ahead of the UK all year, so they are at their desks when you are. They work inside your own software under their own logins, white-label by default. Every job is reviewed and signed off in the UK before it reaches you, and you remain the signatory on everything that goes out to a client or HMRC. Full detail is on /how-it-works/.

Marketing is its own seat. Guides, newsletters, site updates and social posts are written by a marketer on your team, priced as a Production seat. See /what-we-do/marketing/.

Who should pick which

Pick GI Outsourcing if you want to send work job by job at a fixed fee agreed up front, if you need audit fieldwork support, or if you want a UK account manager alongside an offshore team. GI has been doing this work for UK practices for more than two decades, and its trial job lets you test it on one client before you send more.

Pick Muckin if you want the same named people on your work every month, a seat price you can read before the first call, and the option to stop on a month's notice. A seat suits steady recurring work: 80 hours a month of bookkeeping and 80 hours of accounts, say, with a UK reviewer checking everything before it reaches you.

GI and Muckin both have people near Pretoria. The South Africa staff GI lists on its people page all hold audit roles. Our Pretoria office does bookkeeping, payroll, accounts production and marketing for UK practices, and the review of that work is done in the UK.
