Muckin vs Unison Globus

• Unison Globus is an outsourcer headquartered in Ahmedabad, with offices in Surat and Hyderabad and addresses in London, Florida and Melbourne. It offers a full-time or part-time dedicated accountant, prepaid blocks of hours, and fixed-price year-end accounts.
• Muckin is a named team in our own Pretoria office, sold as monthly seats, reviewed and signed off in the UK, rolling monthly.
• Unison Globus publishes one price, prepaid hours at £18.50 an hour with a 50-hour minimum. Muckin publishes every seat price on /pricing/.
• Unison Globus offers a 10-hour free trial and states ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification. Its prepaid hours suit a practice that wants a bank of hours to draw on in January.

We've described Unison Globus from its own public website as of October 2026; if anything here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

What Unison Globus says it does

Unison Globus describes itself as "a trusted outsourcing partner for UK accountancy practices" with "20+ years of global experience". Its UK site lists accounting and bookkeeping, digital bookkeeping, year-end accounts (including a fixed-price service), tax preparation, self assessment, company tax returns, VAT, payroll, company secretarial work, MTD for Income Tax, and audit and assurance support. Its contact page gives its headquarters in Ahmedabad, offices in Surat and Hyderabad, and addresses in London (City Road), Coral Springs in Florida and Melbourne. Its hiring section is headed "Hire Dedicated UK-Trained Accounting Experts in India", and it says the team works inside your own software licences, with "Direct access to your team during UK hours (GMT/BST)".

It names three ways to hire. A "Full-Time Dedicated Accountant" works "8 hours a day, aligned to UK time (GMT/BST)". "Part-Time Accounting Support" offers "Flexible hours based on workload". A "Prepaid Block of Hours" is "Minimum 50 hours at £18.50 per hour", paid up front "with no expiry". Prices for the full-time and part-time options are not published. Its fixed-price year-end service agrees a fee per job before work starts; one round of your review points is included, and further rounds are priced separately.

New clients can start with a 10-hour free trial, and its FAQ says the contract is signed after the trial. We could not find a minimum term or notice period beyond the 50-hour minimum on prepaid blocks. On quality, it describes "Multi-level review before final delivery", and says free-trial work "is reviewed by a Senior Manager". It states it is "ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701:2019 certified" with SOC 2 Type II compliant systems. Content for your own practice is not listed. Their site: unisonglobus.com/uk.

What Muckin does

We do one thing: a production team for your practice, sold as monthly seats. A seat is one person in one role. A Production seat is a bookkeeper, a payroll and admin person or a marketer. An Accounts seat covers year-end accounts, CT600s, self assessment and management accounts. A Senior seat is a qualified accountant who can run a portfolio.

The people are employees in our own office in Pretoria, South Africa, and they work from that office. Pretoria is one to two hours ahead of the UK all year, so they are at their desks when you are. They work inside your own software under their own logins, white-label by default. Every job is reviewed and signed off in the UK before it reaches you, and you remain the signatory on everything that goes out to a client or HMRC. Full detail is on /how-it-works/.

Marketing is its own seat. Guides, newsletters, site updates and social posts are written by a marketer on your team, priced as a Production seat. See /what-we-do/marketing/.

Side by side

Who should pick which

Pick Unison Globus if you want a published hourly rate, hours you can buy in advance and use as work comes in, or a fixed price agreed for each set of accounts. Its prepaid block suits uneven work: 50 hours costs £925 and the hours do not expire. If your own clients ask about data security, its ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certificates give you something to show them.

Pick Muckin if you want the same named person on your work every month, with every job reviewed and signed off in the UK. On our published prices a Production seat works out at £12.19 to £16.25 an hour and an Accounts seat at £16.56 to £21.25 an hour, ex VAT, depending on seat size. Those hours go to one person who learns your clients and your software, and you can stop on a month's notice.
