About

Run by people who run a practice.

Muckin was started by a working accountancy practice owner who got tired of outsourcers that sold capacity in January and vanished in March. So we built the team we wanted to buy: permanent, in your systems, doing the lot.

Why Muckin exists

We've sat on your side of the desk.

The founder runs an accountancy practice across England and Northern Ireland, with its own production office in Pretoria, South Africa, and has bought and integrated other firms. Every outsourcing model we tried had the same flaw: it was built around jobs, not people. Send a job, get a job back, never speak to the same preparer twice, and watch the knowledge walk out the door every time the season ended.

Muckin is the fix we couldn't buy. Seats, not jobs. The same people every month, working inside your software, to your standard, on whatever mix of accounts, admin and marketing the practice needs that month. Priced so a sole practitioner can start, and built so a ten-partner firm can scale.

  • Built from inside a working UK practice, not a BPO sales deck
  • Qualified South African accountants and bookkeepers in our own Pretoria office; UK review and sign-off on every job
  • Accounts, back office and content under one roof — because the practice doesn't split them either
  • Plain pricing, rolling monthly, no lock-in — the way we'd want to buy it
  • White-label by default; your clients see your firm
The name

muck in (verb, British)

To join in with a task and share the work, especially the hard or unglamorous part, without being asked twice. "Everyone mucked in and the job was done by Friday."

That's the whole brand. Not "offshore delivery centre". Not "resource augmentation". People who turn up, get stuck in, and are still there next month.

What we won't do

Honest limits.

We don't sign off

We prepare to review-ready. The review, the opinion and the signature are yours — that's what your licence and your PI cover, and we're not pretending otherwise.

We don't give advice to your clients

Client-facing work is admin, chasing and content — never advice. Anything that needs a judgement call comes to you.

We don't do audit fieldwork

Accounts, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, admin and content. If you need audit support, we'll say so and point you elsewhere.

We don't pretend thirty days is zero

The first month is real work at both ends. By day 30 it runs itself; before that, expect to be reviewing closely. We'd rather tell you now.

Ready for a team that mucks in?

Tell us what's piling up. We'll come back within one working day with who we'd put on it and what it costs.
