Acenteus CCA is Brighton-registered with offshore delivery, UK review and pay-per-work billing. Muckin sells monthly seats from its own Pretoria office.
We've described Acenteus CCA from its own public website as of August 2026; if anything here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
Acenteus CCA Global Ltd is registered at Companies House (16059910) in Brighton and says it has "10+ years in business". It offers "scalable outsourced accounting solutions with AI automations designed to help UK accountants expand capacity", covering accounting, tax compliance, audit outsourcing, corporate finance outsourcing and corporate and commercial law outsourcing. It displays an ACCA logo and describes itself as a "fully UK-domiciled entity" with "senior UK professionals" as the primary contact.
On model, its own comparison pages say "pay only for work delivered" and "scalable billing: pay only for accounting services used; no forced minimum volumes", with "no long-term contractual lock-ins". Delivery is by "trained offshore accounting teams", and the site does not name the country on the pages we read. On quality it describes "two-tier quality control: offshore delivery + UK professional review" and "work description reports supporting transparency". Prices are not published. Marketing or content services for your practice are not listed. Their site: acenteus-cca.com.
We agree with Acenteus on two things: there should be a UK professional between offshore work and your client, and nobody should be locked into a long contract. Where we differ is the unit. Acenteus bills for work delivered. We sell seats: a named person, full, half or part time, who does your work every month. Production seats cover bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, admin and content. Accounts seats cover year-end, CT600, self assessment and management accounts; see /what-we-do/accounts-production/.
Our people are employees in our own office in Pretoria, one to two hours ahead of the UK. They work in your software under their own logins. Every job is reviewed and signed off in the UK before it reaches you and you remain the signatory. Seat prices are public and seats are rolling monthly with a month's notice. Content fills Production-seat hours; there is no separate price. How a seat runs day to day is on /how-it-works/.

Pick Acenteus if your work is irregular. Paying per piece of work with no minimum volume is the right shape for a practice that has a January bulge and a quiet summer, or that wants to test offshore on twenty sets of accounts before committing to anything. Acenteus also offers audit, corporate finance and legal outsourcing, none of which we touch. And if you want a UK-domiciled supplier with an ACCA affiliation you can check, they have set that out plainly.
Pick Muckin if your work is steady and the thing you want is the same person every month. Per-job billing is flexible, but it means the bookkeeper who did the March VAT return may not be the one who does June's. A seat is a person who learns the clients. The trade-off is that you pay for the seat whether January is busy or not, which is why we sell part-time and half seats and why the capacity calculator exists: to stop you buying more seat than you need.
On review, the two models are closer than most. Treat that as a reason to compare on price, people and fit rather than on whether anyone is checking the work.
Size the work on the capacity calculator, read /pricing/, and contact us.
