Production seat
One person in one of these roles: bookkeeping and VAT, payroll and admin, or marketing.
Prices exclude VAT. A seat is one person in one role, the same person every month, billed rolling monthly with one month's notice. Bookkeeping and VAT is one role; payroll and admin is another, priced the same. Every seat after the first is 10% off.
Questions
What do outsourced bookkeeping rates look like in the UK?
On the provider sites we captured on 21 September 2026, published bookkeeping rates started at £7 an hour (AccountsAid and Star Sterling Outsource), monthly bookkeeping from £450 (Whiz Consulting) and per-client fees from £33 a month for a sole trader (QAccounting). What does a Muckin bookkeeper cost?
A Production seat is £1,950 a month for 160 hours, £1,100 for 80 hours or £650 for 40 hours, plus VAT. That is £12.19, £13.75 or £16.25 an hour, fixed, so a month where a job runs long costs you the same.
How did you work out the UK hourly cost?
Our pricing page puts a UK bookkeeper on £27,000 to £32,000 at £36,000 to £44,000 a year all in, with employer's NI, pension, software, a desk and recruitment. Divided by 1,920 hours, which is 160 hours for twelve months, that is £18.75 to £22.92 an hour.
What should we ask about any rate?
Who employs the person, whether it is the same person every month, who reviews the work, how hours are counted and what notice ends the arrangement. Our provider checklist has twenty questions.
